Lodestone

A field of graphite filings, drawn as if scattered across paper over a set of hidden magnets. You never see the magnets — they're scored from the word — but you read them anyway in how the filaments bend, braid, and shear, and in the asymmetric void they all curve around, like a hole punched in the field.

Sometimes the currents snap mid-stroke; rarely the whole field goes quiet and sparse. Continuity is conditional. Press R to re-scatter the filings over a new arrangement of unseen stones.
